Kings River Expeditions was the first to offer whitewater rafting trips on the Kings River back in 1972. Justin E. (JEB) Butchert alongside his wife Julie helped to pioneer commercial rafting on the Kings River, and create a 45 year legacy of fun, safe, and memorable rafting trips on the Kings River. In 2022 they passed the torch to veteran river guides Casey and Veronica Cornell who began their guiding careers on big water in 2011.

Today, Casey and Veronica continue the Butchert's legacy with the same excitement and enthusiasm that has kept staff and guests coming back year after year. KRE has grown quite a bit since its early days, but chose not to expand beyond the Kings River, offering guests an experienced staff and the most unique whitewater adventure on the river.
