We have been offering whitewater rafting trips on the Kings River since 1972. I started rafting the river in 1978. This year, as always, I will kayak along on almost all of our trips this spring and summer, shooting photos and video and having fun with our guides and guests. If a quarter-century on the river has taught me anything, it's that people raft with us for more than the river. They enjoy the guides, the food and the amazing camaraderie that develops among people sharing such an exciting activity.

The Kings River is a beautiful, free-flowing river perfect for beginning to intermediate rafters. It has something for everyone. For the adventurous, there are big waves and holes during our high-water season. For the rest of us, there are warm-water, Class III rapids during our summer season.

Kings River Expeditions has always had a unique situation: We were the first to offer whitewater trips on the river and have worked since to improve and refine the experience. We grew, but unlike many companies in the industry, we chose not to expand to other rivers. We have one camp on one river with one staff and everything we do is concentrated on providing the best possible river trips. If our success is based on anything, its just that a simple, concentrated effort to provide the best possible recreational experience in a natural environment.

There are advantages to running only one river. We have the logistics finely tuned. This allows our staff to concentrate their time and energy on you. Our river guides will greet you upon your arrival, cook all your meals (and do the dishes), get to know you both on and off the river and make sure your ride is safe and enjoyable. They want to have as much fun as you do, and thats what usually happens.

We have one-and two-day trips, so get together with friends, family and co-workers and do something extraordinary. Pack your overnight gear, and we'll provide the rest from ice-cold beer to ice cream sundaes. The invitation is open. The river is waiting. Join us for a Kings River Expedition!
