DIRECTIONS
Twin Pines Camp, the base camp for Kings
River Expeditions, is approximately 60 miles
east of Fresno. Travel time from Fresno is
about an hour and a half. Follow directions
from one of the next three sections,
depending on where you are coming from:
FROM THE NORTH ON FWY 99
Take the 180 East exit off Freeway 99 as you get into Fresno. Travel east on 180 to Academy Avenue. Turn left on Academy. Travel approximately 1 mile to Belmont Avenue. Turn right onto Belmont. Now follow directions under EVERYONE listed below. The last gas stops for night arrivals
will be along Freeway 99, Highway 180 and at the Clovis Avenue/Belmont Avenue intersection. FROM THE SOUTH ON FWY 99
Take the 180 East exit off Freeway 99 as you get into Fresno. Travel east on 180 to Academy Avenue. Turn left on Academy. Travel approximately 1 mile to Belmont Avenue. Turn right onto Belmont. Now follow directions under EVERYONE listed below. The last gas stops for night arrivals will be along Freeway 99. The last gas stop during the day will be a little farther up the road at Doyal's Market in Piedra. FROM THE COAST ON HWY 41
Heading north on Highway 41, turn right on Jensen Avenue (just south of Fresno) and travel east approximately 12 miles to Academy Avenue in Sanger. Turn left on Academy and travel north five and a half miles to the intersection of Belmont and Academy. Turn right on Belmont. Now follow directions under EVERYONE listed below.
The last gas stops for night arrivals will be in Sanger. The last gas stop during the day will be a little farther up the road at Doyal's Market in Piedra. EVERYONE
Set your trip odometer on zero at the Belmont/Academy intersection. Stay on Belmont heading east - it will turn into Trimmer Springs Road. Stay on Trimmer Springs Road and match your trip odometer with the following checkpoints:
0 miles - Belmont/Academy intersection 13 miles - Piedra (small community, last daytime gas and food stop) 25.6 miles - Trimmer (abandoned store/restaurant) 33 miles - Big Creek Bridge (stay on paved road that goes across the bridge) 42.5 miles - Kings River Bridge At the end of the Kings River Bridge, turn right onto a dirt road (our sign will be there). Parking will be about 1/8 mile down this road, to the right for cars, and to the left for campers and RV's. Good luck! |
